Turn the iron to the highest setting and allow it to heat up.
How to fix carpet dents.
To remove carpet indentations.
Let the ice melt for at least a few hours.
Hold the iron 4 to 6 inches 10 to 15 cm over the carpet and apply a steady jet of steam to the affected area.
Apply a hot clothes iron to the cloth.
First place an ice cube in the carpet dent.
Give dents the cold shoulder by placing a large ice cube or multiple cubes if you re dealing with larger indentations directly into the carpet divot.
Wait 12 hours blot up wet spots then use the edge of a spoon to lift carpet fibers back up.
If the carpet has a dent that is very large or long you may need to place a couple of ice cubes to fill the spot.
If the dent is large or long use extra ice cubes as needed allow the ice cubes to melt.
If the dent is already set after you move the furniture try placing an ice cube in the dent and let it melt into the dent for a couple hours.
Apply steam to the area.
Or steam away dents.
Place a damp cloth over the indentation.
Place an ice cube on the dent.
Be careful not to damage the carpet when trying to fluff it up.
Afterwards use a towel to soak up the excess water then use a spoon to fluff the carpet back up.
The carpet doesn t have to be 100 percent dry slightly damp is fine.
Remove the cloth and use a spoon to fluff up the carpet.
Fill a steam iron with water.
